Here are some photographs of our previous site. I have split them into two categories. 'BEFORE' & 'AFTER'. You can see how much work had to be put into making these stables useable as a rescue centre. I am proud to say that the hard work paid off.
We had electricity, water & heating, thanks to the hard efforts of all the volunteers. You know who you were !
We also had a visit from the local RSPCA inspector, following concerns reported by a well meaning member of the public, who misunderstood a recent appeal. Over the bad weather, our water stand pipe froze, leaving us without water for one day. We asked if local people could bring us some extra buckets & some water, so we could continue with our daily cleaning routines and make sure all the animals had water. Also one of our heaters broke down, so we asked if anyone had a spare heater that they could lend us. The RSPCA inspector was told that we had no water, no heating & no electricity laid on to the site. Obviously this wasn't true, but we didn't mind the visit, as it gave us peace of mind to know that we had changed everything on site to such a standard that the RSPCA were happy with how things were being run.
Also, it was nice to know that the public cared enough to complain.

HIGH SHELVES HAVE BEEN ADDED, WITH COMFY PLACES TO SLEEP

PIGEON HOLES, SO CATS CAN SLEEP TOGETHER, OR APART

And now we have a smart new red roof !
There is still a lot to be done, but we are getting there slowly.
