DUDLEY

We were asked to take in a Mallard duckling that had been rescued from bullying by a member of the public, who thought it was about a month old. We agreed to take it, but it was actually only about a week old. It was taken to one of our wild animal fosterers and we are glad to say Dudley is doing really well. She is beginning to grow her adult feathers and we can now tell that she is a female. She has settled well with her new foster family and will have a permanent place with them, if she chooses, however, she may choose to fly off next spring, to find a mate & a new nest.

It was brought to our attention that there was a Muscovy Duck with a badly damaged wing, at Bawburgh Mill. When we went to check out the situation, he was not only damaged, but being picked on my a more dominant Muscovy male. A nearby resident advised that the three Muscovy ducks had appeared a few years before, and that no-one owned them. The other male & female pair, seemed to be coping well, so we have left them in situe, although they are being monitored. However, we decided it was best to take the lone male away. He now lives with the same family as Dudley. His damaged wing has been removed & hopefully when he grows new feathers next year, he will be able to be released again. If not, he will have a permanent home at Castaways.

SMOKY is a female, thought to be around 4 years old. She came to SCAT when her previous owner moved home, leaving SMOKY with the properties owner, who knew very little about cats. SMOKY is an affectionate long haired cat, who needs lots of grooming and up until now hasn't had it. She has an attitude ! She hates being groomed & it will take considerable time & patience to change her views on this.
If you have experience in these matters, you could be the home for her!

FIMBLE is a 16 week old, black & white female. She likes to be fussed, but didn't particularly like being picked up when she came to us. She now loves it. She's a noisy little thing, who doesn't like to be ignored. She shouts for attention, will smack you with her little paw if you are close enough, but not taking notice of her & purrs constantly when you cuddle her. She's very playful and her favourite game is catching flies!!! She must go to a home with no young children.

HAZEL is a shy but very affectionate tortoishell female. Unfortunately for Hazel, she has no tail. She came from a home, with Fizz & Pebbles. Ideally, we would like Hazel to go to a home on her own, as she isn't over keen on other cats although she tollerates Pebbles & Fizz.

BENNY was a feral cat when he was trapped and brought to us. He had the benefit of 3 days in one of our foster homes and by the time he came to the site, he settled straight in, was affectionate, and loves nothing better than to have his tummy tickled!
BENNY also has the unusual ghost markings that ATHENA has.
BENNY's brother and sister, EMILIO and ATHENA are also available for rehoming.

EMILIO was also feral, and was the second to be trapped. He is short haired, black with a few white hairs here and there, like his brother BENNY. EMILIO was the slowest to tame. We originally thought he was a girl and called him Amelia, no wonder he was a little peeved ! A few weeks down the line, we realised our mistake ! EMILIO would still rather run away from us, than be fussed, but once you have him in yours arms, he appreciates the attention. He will need an owner with patience, who can give him all the time he needs to gain confidence and a further trust of humans.

ATHENA was the last of the siblings to be trapped. She is short haired, black and white in colour, but she has unusual, stunning tabby ghost markings within her shiny black coat. She was taken straight into foster care, to get her on the fast track for taming, as EMILIO had proved to be very headstrong. She settled quickly with 5 other cats and 2 mad border collies. She is VERY affectionate once you gain her trust, but she'll probably want to nibble on your ears! She has a very loud purr, which is most commonly heard at around 5AM when she jumps on the bed to wake her foster mum, who gets pinned down with any bare flesh washed, before being allowed to get out of bed! A word of warning, if you don't wear PJ's, she's not the cat for you! LOL Although she will take undoubtably a while to adjust to a new home and her new family, we are sure that she will be worth the effort.

TWINKLE is an adorable tabby and white male, who is now 1 year old. He came to us as a kitten, with two of his brothers, TOFFEE and TREACLE, when their previous owners could not find homes for them. They were part of a litter of 8! Homes were found for his brothers, but TWINKLE remains with us. Everybody who volunteers at the Long Stratton site adores TWINKLE, and he has become a bit of a celebrity as he stars on our SCAT mouse mats. PLEASE ASK FOR DETAILS !
We'll be truly sad to see this little lad go!

OSCAR is a small ginger tabby & white male. He is about 3-4 years old but looks much younger.
He is full of love and affection, but currently has large bald patches. This is purely due to a stress reaction to children in his former home. Therefore we would be looking to offer this handsome lad to a relatively quiet home, that has no children. OSCAR has been neutered & vaccinated.

PURDY

PURDY, RIPLEY & SPIDER are 3 sisters. They were trapped at the tender age of just 6 weeks old & brought to SCAT. Being feral, they were taken to a very capable foster home for taming. The girls are now ready to go to permanent homes. All 3 have been spayed and vaccinated, they are used to other cats and dogs, as well as rabbits, guinea pigs and hedgehogs! They are affectionately known as 'the monkeys'.
PURDY is particularly outgoing and loves to rub around legs, lots of fuss and cuddles. She purred all the way through her first vaccination this week!
RIPLEY likes to treat her foster mum as a tree and spends a large amount of time draped around her shoulders.
SPIDER remains somewhat of a loner and looks longingly at available laps, but still won't quite take the plunge. Hopefully her timidity should decrease as she gets older.

SIMBER is a long haired, agouti ticked golden persian female. She is 3yrs old and has not yet been vaccinated or spayed. We would insist that both be done by her new owner immediately, with proof supplied to us. She is NOT for breeding. She has led a very sheltered life as an indoor cat. Simber has not been used to either cats or dogs, so must be placed as an only pet, with a child free home prefered. She will need gentle encouragement if she is to make it in the big wide world of a garden!

SOOTY is an elderly lady who is looking for a loving lap on which to spend her twilight years. She is 16 years old and has only half a tail, but this doesn't detract from her winning personality. This girl is incredibly affectionate and loves plenty of attention. Do you have a lap she is looking for?

MOLLY is a blue merle Border Collie, thought to be around 10-12 years old. She is almost totally blind and partially deaf. She was brought to SCAT by Animal Rights people, who rescued her, MEGAN, YANTO & SIMBA. They had been confined in small sheds & were only fed on a Sunday, when the animal rights people went to the premises to clean & feed the animals. Understandably Molly has little trust for humans & is partial to a nip here and there, which is why she needs a very special new owner. She was previously not available for rehoming, but due to the prospect of SCAT having to leave the current site, we feel it best we find a home for her.

LUKE

LUCKY

LUKE & LUCKY are two gorgeous greyhound boys. They were originally with us for fostering, whilst their owners underwent house repairs. However, their owners have decided to set up home in another country & feel that LUKE & LUCKY would be better off with a new family. These affectionate and loving boys, must be rehomed together and cannot be homed with cats.

TIKA

LUCILLE

TIKA & LUCILLE are German Shepherd Dogs. They were recently rescued in a case of serious neglect. They are both lovely natured girls. TIKA is believed to be around 2 years old, LUCILLE is thought to be 3-5 years old. These are bouncy dogs who have been used to being confined in a house, without adequate excercise & therefore will need to be re-introduced to it gradually. Due to there predominantly unknown background, we must insist on a home with experience in German Shepherd Dog handling, to prevent further problems in the future.
These girls MUST be homed together.

GEORGE is a 5 year old chocolate and white Cocker X Springer spaniel. He is vaccinated, micro-chipped & has been neutered. He is a handsome boy who has a few problems. He has bitten in the past, specifically when being groomed and can be possessive over toys, which is why he is with us. He dislikes thunder & the lawn mower...don't we all? But he loves running through long grass & having his tummy tickled. GEORGE must go to an adult only home, who has previous experience in dogs with behavioural difficulties.

GRACE is a 9/10 year old female Beagle.
She is a very easy going little girl, is an absolute sweetie & loves to be rubbed vigorously!
